Using meticulously sourced and foraged seasonal British ingredients, each day James and the Kitchen Table team prepare a Modern British daily changing tasting menu using the very best of what’s available to them on any given evening. Each course focuses on a single ingredient – like oyster, truffle, scallop, or deer – and amplifies exceptional produce to its very best.
That exceptional produce comes from James’ long-trusted network of independent suppliers, who have been the cornerstone of Kitchen Table since its opening, sustainably sourcing day boat fish, growing seasonally, and farming responsibly.
Kitchen Table’s beverage program offers a wine pairing, a Champagne pairing, and a soft pairing. The wine list offers a world-leading selection of Grower Champagnes alongside wines by the bottle and the glass, whilst the bar menu riffs on house-made spirits and liqueurs. Wines served at Kitchen Table can be purchased here.
We currently serve our usual Tasting Menu and an alternative Vegetarian Tasting Menu, both of which are priced at £265. You can also choose to add on a Grower Champagne pairing (£250), or a Wine Pairing (£160) – or you can choose your drinks on the evening.
Kitchen Table is a dining experience, with each part of your visit carefully planned – please arrive at 70 Charlotte Street punctually at the time of your booking.
Kitchen Table is a dining experience, where full interaction with the chefs showcases previously unseen kitchen theatre. Guests, seated at a horseshoe-shaped counter, see James Knappett and his team prepare, serve, and talk diners through that evening’s tasting menu. A wine list curated by award-winning sommelier (and James’ wife) Sandia Chang completes the experience.
James Knappett has worked at some of the world’s most highly regarded restaurants. He trained in Cambridgeshire, spent formative years in the kitchens at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Petrus, and then moved on to work at Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurants, Thomas Keller’s Per Se, and with René Redzepi at noma.
Kitchen Table opened in 2012, was awarded one Michelin Star in 2014, and achieved a coveted second star in 2018 – which it has held ever since. Kitchen Table was also awarded Michelin’s ‘Welcome and Service Award’ in 2018.
